We were referred to Canine Perspective by the Rescue we got our dog from, the guidance and support we have received has been beyond reproach. It has gone a long way to settling our dog and dealing with his issues as a result of prior history. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending Canine Perspective!
Marie is a very friendly, knowledgeable lady who knows just how to get dogs to do what she wants them to! She is obviously passionate about what she does and it comes across in her consultations. I would have no question about recommending her and the team to anyone wanting to understand their dog.
Having experienced group training classes with my first hound and him not really enjoying or gaining much from them, I thought I would try Marie for my new crazy hound Penny’s training after she was referred to me by my friend. I have been more than amazed at what I have achieved with Penny after just two 121 training sessions with Marie. Marie took the time to explain, in-depth, “why” she was asking me to do specific training tasks and not just telling me the “how”. Marie’s explanations were so logical! If you have a crazy hound needing guidance and understanding, I would highly recommend Canine Perspective. In two sessions with Marie, my nerves are beginning to ease and Penny is well on her way to becoming a well-trained hound. A million thank you’s to Marie and Canine Perspective.
Marie helped to train us to train G-dog, who we nearly gave up on having followed the “old-fashioned” advice on dominance. She and is equally patient with children and adults and doesn’t limit herself to 121 sessions, but is always available for help and advice between visits. The changes that Marie has helped us bring about can only be described as amazing!
Marie was experienced in identifying my newly adopted rescue dog’s historical problems and she was equally kind and tactful in pointing out how we were unintentionally making things worse! She gave us good advice on how to move forward in a positive way and the confidence that with time and effort by all parties we could all adjust and become a happy family unit.
Following an in-depth, friendly, informative consultation at home, I received some very useful advice and pointers on different areas of concern along with ways of tackling them. I took Marley (our rescue dog) along to a loose lead walking boot camp where we met 3 other dogs and their owners with varying needs that required attention. The morning was very well organised and supervised (and fun) and I believe we all gained a lot from it. I have found Marie to be very professional and considerate at all times in her approach to her clients (both canine and human!) and would have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone considering employing the use of a trainer/behaviourist. The training methods used are evidence-based and totally focused on positive reinforcement – definitely, no harsh regimens and I’d like to wish her and her team all the very best for the future of this innovative venture.
