2019 Election: Kindness First

In the wake of today’s result, wake being the operative word, I am profoundly aware that I have to do something to create a change, to make a change and to be the change.

We all do.

In moments of utter bemusement, I take a moment and read a quote that’s on my wall here at HQ.

The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way in which its animals are treated.” (Mahatma Gandhi)

Election 2019

That’s not about policies; it’s about how we choose to behave. We start at home and we create a ripple effect from there.

Kindness first.

As we’re all in the midst of different emotions, remember that we represent ourselves and we can only be judged on our actions. This is a turning point in the moral progress of our country and each and every one of us has a responsibility to respond to each other with kindness.

If you’re using a tone, words or an emotional response that you wouldn’t aim at your canine bestie, don’t aim it at another human either. Kindness first; we have to start there.
