Pawsed… Not Closed!

How are you doing as the rules have changed and confusion reigns supreme in England?! To my friends in NI, Wales & Scotland… as well as in other parts of the world, I salute you!

I thought I’d just give you a bit of an update about where we stand under the new rules and what we’re doing at the moment.

The Pet Industry Federation has offered guidance based on the new rules but essentially, with the work we do at Canine Perspective CIC, we’re very much still pawsed… not closed for business. We are not able to run any of our workshops and while there are ways in which 121 sessions could happen in a quiet outdoor space, I’m not convinced it would be in the best interest of the dog to have such strict two-metre guidelines, no interaction (that’s possibly just not in my best interest!) and no opportunity to demonstrate as we can’t easily hand over leads etc. The best interest of the dog has to be at the heart of what we do and while we’re talking to clients online and looking at cases on an individual basis, we’re still sticking to the original rules and will continue to do so until further notice.

I’ll be honest with you, it’s not easy. Not at all! Canine P has been my life and soul since we kicked off in 2014. We had a full diary of Canine Progress workshops, 121 clients booked in and Luna was all set to make her debut with her new product range in the largest independent pet shop in the West Midlands. 2020 was set to be our most exciting year yet.

Pawsed… not closed! That’s what I keep reminding myself.

The Canine Hope book is underway, which is reminding me why we started and keeping me motivated. Pawsed… not closed!

Thank you for reading.
