We are excited to bring this fabulous Dog First Aid course to Hereford. The human has attended one of Jo’s courses and can vouch for the fact that you’ll not only learn lifesaving skills, you’ll enjoy learning those skills.
You can’t call an ambulance for your dog. If you don’t know what to do in an emergency, you could find yourself in a terrifying situation. Living in this gorgeous part of the word means that we have the benefit of walking in the hills and enjoying the peace and quiet. With that benefit comes isolation and limited phone signal.
We were caught in a situation with Mr Bear, a larger than life hound who cut his paw when we were out on one of our epic weekend adventures. Now, we were lucky, it wasn’t a scary emergency and I had my first aid kit with me. But, what if it had been an emergency? We were at least an hour away from the car without any phone signal. Having been on one of Jo’s courses, I have kit that I take on walks with me, I have a plan of action for different circumstances and I know what I need to do to help my dogs until I can get them to the vet. I also know what I shouldn’t do in emergency situations.
Do you know what to do if your dog is poisoned, if they collapse or if they choke? ‘Get them to the vet’ is the obvious (and correct) answer, however, what you do in the time it takes to get your dog to the vet could be the difference between life and death.
This Dog First Aid Course costs £45 and will run from 10am–1pm at Northolme Community Centre in Hereford.
Northolme Community Centre, Northolme Road, Belmont, Hereford, HR2 7SP
